Student Placement Diploma a Major Success

Ulster University Sports Studies undergraduate Thomas McKee has just completed his year in industry placement diploma at the Active Sports Groups Head Office in Liverpool.

Thomas currently on a sports coaching and development degree course at Ulster University joined the Head Office in September 2020 and has been a fantastic member of Team Active. 

Paul Darby from Ulster University said, "The Industrial Placement programme at Ulster University’s School of Sport has been enriched through its relationship with Active Sports Group. Our students have had rewarding and diverse experiences on placement with ASG and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Mark and his team."

Mark Whitwood of Active Sports Group commented, "Thomas has been fantastic ever since he joined the Head Office in September. The placement started at a very challenging period for the business and during his placement his adaptability and willingness to support across different projects and programmes was superb. Initially wanting to gain further practical delivery experience during the placement the restrictions prevented this from happening as consistently as planned so Thomas had the opportunity to gain experience in other areas including, sports development and assisting on event planning and marketing. We are sorry to have to say goodbye to Thomas but we'll keep in touch and look forward to hearing how the final year of his course goes.
